Work starts on first int’l education city in Vietnam

The construction of a green education ecosystem - the International Education City (IEC) invested by Nguyen Hoang Group (NHG), commenced in Quang Ngai city, the central province of Quang Ngai on March 31. 

Covering an area of 10 ha of land, the project has a total investment of VND1 trillion (US$43.9 million). 

The project, the first of its kind in Vietnam, will provide education programmes for all education levels: preschool, primary, elementary, high school, higher education, and post-graduate programmes. 

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of NHG Hoang Quoc Viet said with the green-space coverage of two-thirds of the area, the project is considered a complete green ecosystem with facilities for football playing, swimming, running; as well as parks and flower gardens.

Learners will have easy access to modern education methods, he added. 

Chairman of the provincial People Committee Tran Ngoc Cang said once completed, the project will contribute to improving the quality of education and training in the locality. 

He called on relevant departments and sectors to facilitate the construction, while asking the investor to strictly implement their commitment to ensuring the progress and quality of the project. 

Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha stressed Vietnam attaches importance to expanding international cooperation in human resources development, with priority given to building international-standard training and education establishments. 

The projects is hoped to benefit both people in Quang Ngai and other central provinces, he said 

The IEC is scheduled to be finished in May 2019.
