WB continues helping Vietnam adapt to climate change

The World Bank (WB) continues working with and supporting Vietnam in numerous fields, including climate change adaptation, visiting the bank’s Chief Executive Officer Kristalina Georgieva has assured. 

Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on March 23, Georgieva affirmed the WB will also cooperate with Vietnam in poverty reduction, water resources management, flood control, urban environment improvement, agriculture and the development of the private area. 

According to the CEO, Vietnam continues to have reforms in State-owned enterprises and the sectors of finance-banking and tax, thus making it easy for the private area to be a driving force for the economy. 

Besides, Vietnam needs to pour more investments into education, and pay heed to skill improvement, environmental protection and climate change adaptation. 

She expressed her belief that Vietnam continues maintaining high growth in the future.
