VOV Youth Union holds Mid-Autumn Festival for mountainous children in Nghe An

VOV.VN - The Youth Union Standing Committee of Voice of Vietnam radio (VOV) recently organized the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023 for children at Na Ngoi 2 Kindergarten in Ky Son district of Nghe An province.

Na Ngoi 2 Kindergarten is one of the difficult schools in Ky Son district that is home to seven schools. The main school is located in the center of Na Ngoi commune, while the remaining six are far from the center. There are villages 18km away from the center, and local people find it difficult to travel because of dirt roads. On rainy days, moving through school sites becomes more difficult than ever because it is susceptible to landslides and isolation.

The Mid-Autumn Festival 2023 celebration was attended by Vu Ba Ly, secretary of the Na Ngoi commune Party Committee, and officials of the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Labourr, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ky Son district; Defense Economics Group 4 (Military Region 4) and Na Ngoi Border Guard, along with teachers and students of Na Ngoi 2 Kindergarten.

Addressing the program, Do Anh Duc, secretary of the VOV Youth Union, noted that children in the mountains have few conditions to have fun and to participate in festive activities like their peers in the city.

“The Mid-Autumn Festival is a much awaited occasion for children during the year, so we would like to do something meaningful for them, hoping they can enjoy this traditional festival and receive due care from everyone,” said Duc.

The VOV Youth Union delivered 120 sets of tables and chairs sponsored by Corning Vietnam Co. Ltd, to the kindergarten. Bao Hung International Joint Stock Company donated 150 gifts of candies and biscuits, while Duc Hung Technology and Trading Company also sponsored all toys for seven local schools. In addition, Ba Vi Dairy Joint Stock Company donated twenty-five boxes of milk to teachers and pupils there.

Taking the floor, Vy Thi Thao, deputy head of the Department of Education and Training of Ky Son district, thanked the VOV Youth Union and other sponsors for their gifts, lending a helping hand to schoolchildren’s life. She expected that children living in far-flung areas would continue to receive care and support from benefactors in the coming time.

Nguyen Thi Thuy, principal of Na Ngoi 2 Kindergarten said, “For children in Ky Son in general, and Na Ngoi 2 Kindergarten in particular, it is very rare for children at the school to have a big Mid-Autumn Festival like this. I personally feel grateful and hope that the VOV Youth Union will continuously organize more programs like this so the children will always have memorable childhood.”
