VOV signs cooperation MoU with China Media Group

VOV.VN - On April 14, as part of the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and China Media Group (CMG) signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (1950 – 2025) and in response to the Year of Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange 2025.

The MoU focuses on the exchange and co-production of media content, including news, radio programmes, online newspapers, and digital technology-based products on topics of mutual interest such as economic development and cultural exchange. Both sides will also coordinate coverage of key milestones in bilateral relations and provide necessary support for joint production by visiting journalist delegations.

Under the signed document, VOV and CMG will send staff to each other’s agencies for training and internships under specific programmes, while also co-organising in-person or online training courses and professional seminars to share management experience and enhance the capacity of reporters, editors, and technicians.

In terms of technical cooperation, both sides will promote the exchange of media technologies, innovation cooperation, and research and development tailored to their respective conditions, while sharing updates on the latest developments in the media industry.

Based on the overall framework, VOV and CMG will sign separate documents detailing specific cooperation in content production, human resources, technology, and sectoral collaboration, in accordance with practical needs and through mutual consultation.

This newly signed MoU replaces the previous one concluded in 2023.

In recent years, VOV has strengthened ties with major Chinese media outlets at both central and local levels, particularly with CMG. In the context of rapidly evolving media technologies, VOV believes that enhanced cooperation will help reinforce the guiding role of both countries’ key media agencies and better serve their audiences.
