VOV and CMG boost media cooperation amid digital boom
VOV.VN - Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and China Media Group (CMG) will increase the sharing of information and boost strategic cooperation amid digital boom.

The agreement was reached during a recent working session in Beijing between Fan Yun, deputy editor-in-chief of CMG and Pham Manh Hung, vice president of VOV.
Hung, who recently led a VOV delegation on a visit to China, said Vietnam is streamlining its organisational structure in preparation for a new era, which includes the restructuring of media agencies. VOV, a major State-owned media agency, primarily focuses on radio broadcasting, online news, digital platforms, and print media.
He emphasized that in the context of digital boom, strengthening the exchange of development strategies between the two sides would enable VOV and CMG, as key media agencies of their respective countries, to play a guiding role and establish a mainstream flow of information while leveraging technology to enhance their unique values.
Fan Yun, for his part, affirmed that CMG, which is VOV’s traditional partner in China, wishes to extend the existing cooperation agreement between the two sides and continue implementing previous joint programmes.
He highlighted the need for concrete collaboration during the Year of Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange 2025, such as exchanging journalist delegations, coordinating news coverage of major events, and sharing experiences in digital media development and technology applications, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI).
He stated that strengthening cooperation would allow both sides to effectively tell the stories of Vietnam and China.

Echoing Fan’s views, Hung stressed that VOV is ready to publish diverse information introducing China’s development achievements and various aspects of life. He also expressed hope that CMG would increase its coverage of Vietnam’s transformations and progress for the Chinese audience.
These efforts would help enhance mutual understanding between the two countries and build a stronger social foundation for bilateral relations, he said.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed digital transformation in radio and television broadcasting, as well as the challenges and opportunities that AI presents for traditional media. They affirmed their commitment to sharing experiences in applying these technologies to content production and distribution.
