VOV, RIK partner for radio, TV program development

VOV.VN - The establishment and expansion of relationship between the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (RIK) will help people gain more insights into cultures of each nation, contributing to promoting their tourism potential, said VOV Vice President Nguyen Xuan Huy. 

A delegation of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) led by Vice President Nguyen Xuan Huy paid a working visit to the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (RIK) on April 23.

Addressing the reception, RIK Director General Michael Maratheftis introduced guests to the establishment and development of the Corporation, which now has four Radio and three TV channels with extensive coverage of current affairs, entertainment, culture and sport news. RIK has paid a special attention to Radio and TV programs for children and teenagers.

For his part, VOV Vice President Nguyen Xuan Huy briefed RIK representatives on VOV Radio and TV stations and the two countries’ development potential, which can open up bright prospects for broader cooperation in the future.

Director General Michael Maratheftis said RIK is currently restructuring its Radio and TV channels and plans to expand cooperation with other nations in the world including Vietnam. Currently, more than 10,000 Vietnamese nationals are working and studying in Cyprus.

After the meeting, The VOV delegation guided by the RIK Director General toured RIK Radio and TV units to learn about their work experience in archives conservation and visit the RIK museum.
