Following the success of the first ASEAN+3 Song Contest which was hosted by VOV for the first time in Thanh Hoa province in 2017, this year’s event will see the participation of singers and artists from a range of ASEAN member states as well as from China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.
A total of 22 local and foreign contestants have been selected to take part in the semifinals of the competition to be held in Quang Ninh province between July 26 and July 29. The awards ceremony will take place on the evening of July 28.
The contest will be open to professional singers with the aim of boosting knowledge about the culture and tourism of the countries involved in the event, whilst also providing a platform for young talents in the music industry.
It will be broadcast live on radio channels VOV3 and VOV5 and on television channels VTC1 and Vietnam Journey.
Representatives from Quang Ninh have committed to publicising the event at locations throughout the city’s centre, whilst also promising to ensure services, medical facilities, security, and transportation for the event.
On the sidelines of the event, a range of entertainment activities will take place with the goal of promoting tourist attractions in Quang Ninh such as Ha Long bay and Yen Tu.
VOV Vice President Ngo Minh Hien extended his thanks for the support by the leaders of Quang Ninh in organising the event, noting strict co-ordination from the provincial People's Committee will ensure a successful contest and elevate the image of Quang Ninh.
