VOV and TRT of Turkey increase media cooperation
VOV.VN - A delegation from Voice of Vietnam (VOV), led by VOV president Do Tien Sy, visited and held a working session with the leadership of Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) on March 21.

Vietnam and Turkey have enjoyed strong political relations for more than 45 years, with media cooperation playing a significant role in this relationship.
In 2019, under its Asia Anew Initiative, Turkey expanded its connections with ASEAN countries, enhancing and elevating its ties with Asian nations, including Vietnam. This policy provides a strong foundation for bilateral relations, especially as both national broadcasters are active members of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).
As the 61st President of ABU this term, TRT Director General Mehmet Zahid Sobacı expressed his hope that VOV would continue to support TRT in fulfilling its responsibilities effectively.
Notably, TRT runs a journalism academy that trains 13,000 students annually from 114 countries. The organization is focusing on digitalization and developing digital platforms, including its own app, Tabii.
During the meeting, VOV President Do Tien Sy affirmed VOV’s commitment to actively supporting TRT as an ABU member. He also introduced VOV and Vietnam’s administrative streamlining efforts to TRT leaders.

Both chief broadcasters agreed to strengthen cooperation in the future by promoting the socio-economic, and cultural development achievements of both countries. They also emphasized deeper collaboration in broadcasting, sharing new audience engagement methods, and supporting each other in training, technology, and AI applications.
The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation is the national public broadcaster of Turkey. TRT was founded in 1964 and had its first TV broadcast in 1968. It’s one of the founding members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in 1972. TRT also signed Asia-Pacific Broadcast Union (ABU) in 2004.
It owns and operates 14 TV channels - of which 5 are HD - and 19 radio stations covering general entertainment, music, sports, children and news. TRT has TV channels in Turkish, English, Arabic, Azeri and Kurdish languages.
