VKBIA presents Tet gifts to navy infantry

VOV.VN - A delegation of the Vietnam - Korea Businessmen and Investment Association (VKBIA) recently visited and presented Tet (lunar New Year) gifts to the Command of Naval Region 3 in Da Nang city.

Receiving the VKBIA delegation on January 26, Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh, deputy political commissar of the Naval Region 3 Command, briefed the guests on the operation of Naval Region 3 which is tasked with managing and protecting maritime sovereignty across seven provinces and cities of the central coast, the islands along the north-central coast and the Hoang Sa archipelago. The force is ready to mobilize support to protect the Truong Sa archipelago, the DK1 platform as well as other key sea areas.

According to the Deputy Political Commissar, Naval Region 3 which is closely directed by the Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam People’s Navy has over the years carried out a number of meaningful activities to raise public awareness of the task of defending territorial integrity and sovereignty over the sea and islands of the Fatherland, along with mobilizing all resources for the sea and islands.

At the meeting, Dr. Tran Hai Linh, member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and chairman of the VKBIA, highly appreciated Naval Region 3’s meaningful activities, and said the VKBIA has launched the programme “Tet with the Homeland’s Sea and Islands” aimed at sharing the marines’ hardship and encouraging them to accomplish their tasks.

Linh expressed his hope that in the coming time the Naval Region 3 Command would provide continued support to the “Global Liaison Committee for Vietnam’s Seas and Islands” for its trips to the islands of Naval Region 3 to learn more about the Fatherland’s sea and islands, as well as islanders’ lives.

In the lead-up to the Year of the Dragon 2024, the VKBIA delegation presented gifts worth more than VND50 million to representatives of Naval Region 3 Command.
