Visa unveils winners of Practical Money Skills Competition
VOV.VN - Visa and the Vietnam Students’ Association on November 2 announced the eight winners of the 2016 Practical Money Skills Competition at an awards ceremony held at the Hanoi Architectural University.
Over the past decade, Visa has been a private sector leader in developing innovative, free programs and competitions to help Vietnamese effectively learn the fundamentals of personal finance, including budgeting, saving, responsible spending and financial goal-setting.
It's efforts like these competitions that help strengthen the knowledge, skills and confidence of Vietnamese youth, and increase their ability to make responsible financial decisions, said Sean Preston of Visa Vietnam in announcing the award winners.
The competition received more than 800 entries from students of nearly 90 universities across the country who were tasked with creating inspirational phrases and artworks to promote financial literacy concepts to their peers.
The competition recognized the top eight university students for their creatively and mastery of personal finance knowledge in the challenge. These students were judged by a panel of educators and experts that included some of the top financial geniuses in Vietnam.
Each of the top eight students received an award of US$1,700 (VND38 million) in Visa prepaid cards. The Hanoi Architectural University was awarded US$450 (VND10 million) for having the overall greatest student participation in the competition.
