Visa centre for Visegrád Group opens in HCM City

A centre for visa application to Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, which form the Visegrád Group, became operational in Ho Chi Minh City on October 12.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Bus Szilveszter, Deputy State Secretary of Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said only Hungary of the Visegrád Group has established a consulate general in the southern city.

The visa centre reflects efforts of Visegrád members to facilitate travel of Vietnamese and foreigners living in South Vietnam in contribution to boosting partnership between the bloc and Vietnam, he stated.

After the inauguration ceremony, the diplomat and ambassadors to Vietnam of the four nations chaired a gathering to introduce their political alliance’s history, cooperation plan with the ASEAN, and potentials for engagements with Vietnam in tourism, education and science-technology.

The centre lies on the 21st floor of the Lim Tower at No 9-11 Ton Duc Thang Street in District 1’s Ben Nghe ward.
