Vingroup to take part in higher education

Property developer Vingroup has announced its plan to join in the field of higher education by establishing VinUni University (VinUni).

VinUni’s mission is to train talented human resources who are equipped with the knowledge, skills, life experiences and aspirations to contribute to their growth as well as the growth of society and have a positive impact on the global knowledge economy.

After successful completion of the Vinschool Inter-Level School model, VinUni will be a non-profit private Vietnamese university built on a par with international standards, integrating the elite model of higher education in the world. VinUni aspires to create a breakthrough in the quality of higher education in Vietnam, aiming to achieve world-class standards.

To this end, Vingroup will invest in building VinUni based on the highest standards of research, teaching, employment and international prospects. VinUni has specific plans for strategic partnerships with 20 of the world’s best universities, focusing on Ivy League schools such as Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania. VinUni is also geared to meet the world-class standards and rankings in higher education, such as Quacquarelli Symonds and Times Higher Education.

VinUni will focus on the education and training in three key areas including business, technology and health sciences. With the cooperation of the world’s leading universities, all training programmes of VinUni aim to achieve international standards.

Students will have the opportunity to study with professors and lecturers from prestigious universities, research institutes and hospitals, as well as have access to educational technology, simulation equipment and the most advanced labs. Simultaneously, VinUni will create the best conditions for students to experience practical education at the international university and do internships in the companies of Vingroup as well as in leading domestic and foreign enterprises.

Le Mai Lan, vice president of Vingroup, said with a long-term vision and perspective of sustainable development, Vingroup was committed to social responsibility and development of the country.

VinUni is based in Hanoi. The construction of the campus is expected to begin this year. The first batch of students will be enrolled in 2020.
