VINEU set to become innovation pioneer in overseas Vietnamese community

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Innovation Network in Europe (VINEU) is determined to become an independent organisation and pioneer among the overseas Vietnamese (OV) community in the path of innovation in Vietnam, Pham Huy Hoang, president of the VINEU, told Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung on December 14.

During their meeting held in Brussels on the sidelines of a commemorative summit in celebration of the 45th anniversary of ASEAN-EU relations, the Minister spoke highly of the enthusiasm and value that the VINEU brings to the OV community and for the country in general.

He suggested that the organisation seek to expand its network to form a ‘common home’ for exchanges, as well as showcasing updated ideas and global technologies.

VINEU is a non-profit organisation that was established in Berlin on October 16 with the goal of bringing together Vietnamese intellectuals and experts to contribute to the nation’s sustainable development.

The major activities of the VINEU network include consultation and training, investment and business networking, as well as developing a community for experts and technicians.

It will work to co-ordinate with the National Innovation Centre (NIC) in order to deploy various innovation activities both domestically and internationally as part of the Vietnam Innovation Network (VIN). This is an initiative established in 2018 by the MPI in collaboration with the ministries of Science and Technology, Education and Training, and Foreign Affairs.

VIN boasts 1,000 members across 20 countries, as well as five sub-networks based in Germany, Japan, Australia, the Republic of Korea, and Europe.
