Vietnamese Women's Forum in Europe supports fire-affected traders in Poland

VOV.VN - Members of the Vietnamese Women's Forum in Europe have launched a fundraising campaign aimed at supporting small Vietnamese traders who were heavily impacted when a fire at the 44 Marywilska trade centre in Warsaw caused severe property damage.

At an event held on June 16 in Warsaw, Trinh Thi Mui, vice president of the forum and chairwoman of the Vietnamese Women's Union in Germany, handed over a donation of EUR7,100 EUR, more than US$7,590, to Tran Anh Tuan, president of the Vietnamese Association in Poland, and several members of the Vietnamese community based in Poland.

The fundraising call was made on the morning of May 12 when members of the forum were engaging in the Global Summit of Women in Madrid, Mui stated.
Tuan expressed deep gratitude and pledged to ensure that the entire donated amount reaches those in need.

On May 12, a blaze broke out at a shopping centre on Warsaw's Marywilska street. There were no casualties caused by the fire, but almost all property was destroyed. The facility was home to about 1,400 stores, of which one-third were run by Vietnamese people.
