Vietnamese warship leaves for international naval review

VOV.VN - A Pohang-class corvette of the Vietnam People’s Navy left Da Nang on May 14 to take part in international multilateral activities at the invitations of the naval forces of both Indonesia and Malaysia.

The 5,000-nautical-mile journey is expected to help the crew train long-distance seafaring, improve their combat readiness, and enhance the patrolling and reconnaissance capacity at sea.

In Malaysia, the vessel will participate in activities within the framework of the 2023 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), including a naval ship display, a military parade and sea drills.

The Vietnamese warship will then travel to Indonesia to engage in the fourth Komodo Multilateral Naval Exercise (MNEK-4), an international ship review, and an international maritime security conference.

The trip aims to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Navy and those of countries inside and outside Southeast Asia, in order to address common challenges in maritime security.
