Vietnamese students win big at Int’l Chemistry Olympiad ARBIChO

VOV.VN - All four Vietnamese students have brought home three golds and one silver
from the Abu Rayhan Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad (ARBIChO) that concluded in Uzbekistan on June 3.

Notably, Do Trung Kien, from Bien Hoa High School for the Gifted in Ha Nam province, was the top performer of the competition, earning a gold medal with the highest theoretical score among all contestants.

Two other gold medals were awarded to Nguyen The Minh from Amsterdam High School for the Gifted in Hanoi, and Trinh Duc Anh from Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted in Vinh Phuc province.

This year, the competition drew the participation of 110 students from 14 countries and territories.

The event was designed for students under the age of 18 years old and has been organised by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan every two years starting from 2023.

This marks the second time that Vietnam has sent students to the competition.

In 2025, Vietnam is participating in three major international chemistry Olympiads, namely, the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad (IMChO) in May, the Abu Rayhan Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad (ARBIChO) in June, and the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) in July.
