Vietnamese students shine at Int’l Chemistry Olympiad

 Vietnam have bagged four medals at the 50th edition of the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2018), announced the Ministry of Education and Training on July 29.

All Vietnamese students taking part in the competition this year have earned one gold, two silver and one bronze medals. 

The gold medal was carried off by Pham Duc Anh, the 12th grader of High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi University of Science, Vietnam National University.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Chi Nguyen, the 11th grader from Lam Son High School of Thanh Hoa province, and Hoang Thanh Tung, the 12th grader from Le Hong Phong High School of Nam Dinh province, brought home the silver medal. Phan Nhat Duat, the 12th grader from Nghe An province’s Phan Boi Chau High School, bagged a bronze medal.

The students are scheduled to return to Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport in the morning of July 30.

The IChO 2018 took place in the Czech Republic and Slovakia from July 19-29, with the participation of 304 contestants from 82 countries and territories.

At the 49th IChO held in Thailand, Vietnamese students won three gold and one silver medals.
