Vietnamese soldiers save Filipino fisherman off Truong Sa
Vietnamese soldiers stationed on Sinh Ton Island, part of Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, rescued a Philippine fisherman while he was drifting off the island on Monday, the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year).
Anthongradulet said he was a member of the crew of the fishing boat Jerme that left Batangas on February 3 under the lead of captain Otoi.

These dinghies were launched on the sea at 9 am on February 6, Anthongradulet said, adding that one of these vessels, which carried five people including him, was capsized later by violent waves.
Anthongradulet said he hold on to the overturned dinghy that finally drifted to the waters off Sinh Ton Island on February 8.
He added he knew nothing about the whereabouts of the remaining four fishermen.
