Vietnamese people in Laos support flood-hit people in Vietnam

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos held a fundraising ceremony on October 25 to support people in flood-hit areas of central Vietnam.

Ambassador Nguyen Ba Hung, embassy staff, and representatives of Vietnamese agencies in Laos, together with Vietnamese businesses operating in Laos and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Vientiane, participated in the donation.

Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Ba Hung called on Vietnamese people who are working, living and working in Laos to promote the spirit of mutual assistance to help their compatriots in the central region overcome difficulties caused by natural disasters and quickly stabilize their lives.

After a minute’s silence to commemorate military officers and soldiers who had died in rescue missions in the central region over the past weeks, participants raised funds for flood-hit people.

According to a preliminary report, philanthropists raised approximately VND750 million to support the people.
