Vietnamese, French organisations, associations assist COVID-19 control fund

The Vietnamese Embassy in France held a ceremony on June 25 to receive EUR20,000 (US$23,870), donated by the Vietnamese community and several organisations and associations in France in support of Vietnam’s COVID-19 vaccine fund.

President of the France-Vietnam Friendship Association (AAFV) Gérard Daviot spoke highly of Vietnam’s efforts in the fight against the pandemic, affirming that in the long term, vaccine is the key to bringing life back to normal.

He took the occasion to thank the Vietnamese Government for presenting face masks and medical equipment to French people when the pandemic broke out in the country in March last year.

Vietnamese Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang expressed his gratitude for the donation, adding that his embassy will transfer the money to Vietnam as soon as possible.

He affirmed that the embassy will organise other fundraising campaigns to support Vietnam’s COVID-19 fight.
