Most Venerable Thich Minh Quang in Phat Tich pagoda in Vientiane said, “The Vietnamese community in Laos hope that voters at home will choose talented and ethical people, who will represent them to lead the State and the government and to build Vietnam into a richer, more beautiful and democratic country."
"Our earnest wish is that the elected candidates will try their best to speak out for the people and develop the nation,” he added.
Phan Thi Bich Thien, who returns home from Hungary, is voting candidates for the National Assembly and People’s Councils in Thuy Khe ward, Tay Ho district.
She shared, “I am very glad because as a Vietnamese citizen, I want to exercise my right. I am responsible for choosing candidates, the representatives of my parents who are living in this area”.
Vietnamese students in China, including Nguyen Tung Lam, are interested in the election.
“As a Vietnamese studying abroad, I hope that the elected candidates will help the National Assembly make important decisions and call on Vietnamese expats to contribute their talents to the homeland,” Lam said.
