Vietnamese drone successfully tested in Germany skies
VOV.VN - Hera, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by a Vietnamese startup, was recently brought on a tour of Germany where it showed off just how impressive Vietnamese tech has become to potential partners.
The flight was carried out at Manching Airport on September 25 by Vietnam-based RealTime Robotics Inc. (RtR), drone manufacturer Hera, and Protrack Company, a leading Israeli enterprise that works in routing software and smart video analysis.
Present at the testing site were experts from several of the world’s famous technology companies such as Airbus Defense and Space GmbH, Skyroads AG, NetCopter Innovation, Quantum Systems, and ACENTIS.
Though the drone is small enough to fit into a simple backpack, it can carry up to 15 kilograms and can be assembled in just a few minutes.
Hera is combined with Israel's Protrack software which has the ability to automatically detect and accurately locate smoke, fires, and victims.
Hera is the brainchild of local engineer Dr. Luong Viet Quoc, founder and CEO of Vietnam-based RealTime Robotics Inc. (RtR).
Dr. Quoc and his team spent six years and hundreds of billions of Vietnamese Dong on developing Hera.
The ultimate goal of the flight named "Carry a Sparrow, Fly an Eagle - Carry a Sparrow, Fly an Eagle" is to prove that the parametres and features of Hera and Protrack can be achieved in real conditions, not just in ideal ones used in the laboratory.
When Hera touched ground upon completing its mission, it received warm applause from experts at the site.
The following day German newspaper Donaukurier published an article about the event, highlighting the positive view of the technology.
