Vietnamese citizens safely repatriated from Equatorial Guinea
VOV.VN - A plane carrying over 200 Vietnamese citizens from Equatorial Guinea successfully landed at Noi Bai International Airport at 5pm on July 29 with each passenger immediately being transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
Waiting at the airport for the arrival of the flight were approximately 20 vehicles, including 10 vehicles carrying novel coronavirus (COVID-19) patients, five ambulances, in addition to five cargo vehicles.
According to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, seven medical workers have been arranged by the Emergency Department to receive and instruct patients on how to carry out all necessary procedures, in addition to moving quickly to the assigned departments in order to avoid congestion that could increase the risk of infection occurring in the hospital.
At present, the health conditions of the COVID-19 patients remain stable. Dr. Than Manh Hung, deputy head of the Emergency Department under the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, said during the flight over 10 patients showed symptoms of fever, with three patients also suffering from respiratory failure and shortness of breath.
Dr. Hung attributed these issues to the process of changing pressure and the wearing of medical masks during the flight.
Moreover, Dr. Hung noted that after successfully fulfilling the task of bringing the patients to the hospital, every crew member along with four medical staff at the hospital will have to undergo a 14 day-quarantine period in line with regulations in place to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
