Vietnam steps up cooperation with Algeria in information archiving
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Nguyen Thanh Vinh on July 14 had a meeting with Abdelmadji Chikhi, Advisor to the Algerian President and Director General of the National Archives Centre, to intensify exchanges in the information archive field.
Ambassador Vinh spoke highly of co-operation between both sides in recent years, especially with regard to collaboration activities with the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria that saw events organised within the framework of the 55th anniversary of establishment of mutual relations.
The Vietnamese diplomat went on express his hope that both sides will be able to continue to maintain close co-operation ties and contribute to further promoting the fruitful relationship in the near future.
Moreover, Chikhi outlined his desire to co-operate alongside both the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria and the State Department for Records and Archives of Vietnam in an effort to sign a co-operation agreement among the archive agencies of both countries to share their respective experience in the field.
Furthermore, Chikhi stated his desire to learn from the management experience of his Vietnamese counterparts in terms of keeping archives that relate to national memory records.
The Algerian official therefore affirmed his willingness to assist the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria as they seek information relating to King Ham Nghi during his exile in the North African country, with the support of the Algerian National Archives Centre.
