Vietnam, Singapore bolster youth cooperation

The Vietnam National Committee on Youth and the National Youth Council (NYC) of Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation for 2017-2020 in Hanoi on April 18.

First Secretary of the HCM Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong, who is also Chairman of the Vietnamese committee, stated that the signing of the MoU is the follow-up of success the two sides achieved in the past time.

Under the MoU, the two sides will continue maintaining delegation exchanges and sending delegates to major youth-related events in each country.
They will actively coordinate in organising voluntary activities for young people, while intensifying exchanges between young entrepreneurs and cooperation in start-ups.

Grace Fu, Singaporean Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and NYC Chairperson, said that Singapore highly values the role of youths of ASEAN nations, including Vietnam, as they are playing an increasingly important role in each nation.

In the time ahead, Singaporean youths will continue working with Vietnamese peers to further consolidate the two countries’ relations, she added.
