Vietnam sends 24-member team to assist with rescue work in Turkey

VOV.VN - Vietnam has sent a total of 24 policemen of the Ho Chi Minh Police Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue (PC07) and officers of the Ministry of Public Security to Turkey in order to help locate and rescue survivors of a recent deadly earthquake.

The dispatch of the group saw the rescue team, depart from Noi Bai International Airport on February 9 and head to Turkey by special aircraft.

Upon landing, the Vietnamese police will co-ordinate efforts with competent Turkish forces to urgently search for victims who are still trapped in the rubble caused by the deadly earthquake.

So far, more than 16,000 deaths have been confirmed following the powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake which rocked both Turkey and Syria on February 6.
