Vietnam-Russia Friendship Year opens in Moscow
VOV.VN - A gala ceremony hosted by the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev that marked the start of Vietnam Year in Russia, and Russia Year in Vietnam, was held in Moscow on May 22 amid Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to the country.
The event was held during PM Phuc’s ongoing official visit to Russia on May 20-23 which came following an invitation from his Russian counterpart PM Medvedev. |

In his speech, PM Medvedev put emphasis on the special and multi-purpose relationship that exists between the two countries, as well as their resolve to further consolidate their relationship. |
When addressing the audience, PM Phuc highlighted the close relations that have traditionally existed between the two nations. The Vietnamese PM added that the Vietnam Year in Russia and the Russia Year in Vietnam are expected to boost friendship, traditional fraternity, and comprehensive co-operation between the two nations. |
A special performance was staged by Vietnamese artists to celebrate Vietnam-Russia Friendship Year. |
The gala ceremony also marked the start of Vietnam Year in Russia which will be hosted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and run from May 21 and May 28. |
Musical instruments performed by Vietnamese artists made a positive impression on the foreign delegates. |
The art performance gave a glimpse into Vietnam’s history and culture. |
Dances of the nation’s ethnic groups were performed on stage. |
An Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) performance was also featured on stage. |
A wide range of activities are set to take place during Vietnam-Russia Friendship Year, which aims to introduce the country’s cultural values and promote images of the nation’s people and landscape to the world. |
