Vietnam, RoK seek stronger ties in ITC and digital transformation
VOV.VN - The third Vietnam-Korea Digital Forum 2023 opened on November 6 in Hanoi, with the event offering an opportunity for both sides to share co-operation needs in information technology and digital transformation, as well as policies on digital technology, technology development, and human resource training.
Upon addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam highlighted the event as a promising space to boost joint collaboration in information and communication technology, one of the fields that has a strong influence on all aspects of life and socio-economic activities.
The Vietnamese Government determines the dual goal of developing a digital government, the digital economy, digital society, and forming Vietnamese digital technology enterprises with global competitiveness as part of its aspirations for a strong and prosperous nation with its people enjoying a prosperous and happy life.
"The Republic of Korea (RoK) is a leading country in the field of digital technology and an important partner of Vietnam. We have many things in common and opportunities for cooperation, especially in terms of digital government development and human resources.
In recent times, the two sides have launched a broad array of specific and practical cooperation activities such as training human resources, strengthening the capacity of Vietnamese agencies, offering consultation on the development of the Law on e- transactions, the law on digital technology industry, implementing the Vietnam-Korea information technology project. I hope that, through this forum, we can share experience and bolster cooperation between the two countries, helping find many new opportunities for broader cooperation," Deputy Minister Tam said.
According to Jeong Sung, deputy director of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency of Korea, he hopes that based on solid trust in the comprehensive strategic co-operation relationship, both sides will work together to solve new challenges and continue to maintain close linkages and exchanges in the field of digital transformation.
The National IT Industry Promotion Agency therefore pledges to continue to strive to work alongside agencies and organizations as it seeks to strengthen ties with the Vietnamese side in digital transformation.
At the forum, Tran Minh Tan, deputy director of the National Institute of Information and Communications Strategy shared orientations for developing Vietnamese national digital infrastructure.
According to the National Digital Transformation vision, Vietnam will become a digital nation. Therefore, in order to carry out the digital transformation process locally, digital human resources is a factor of top concern, he emphasized.
