Vietnam - RoK public administration forum to take place on December 14
The Ministry of Public Administration and Security of the Republic of Korea (RoK) (MOPAS) said it will coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs to organise a forum on public administration on December 14.
In a press release issued on December 13, the RoK ministry noted that it has cooperated with Vietnam through six memorandum of understanding in the fields of digital government, natural disaster prevention and control, education and training of civil servants, and forensic science.
The Vietnamese ministry has also suggested collaboration in raising the capacity of local authorities, digital transformation in public administration, administrative reform, and personnel training.
The MOPAS said it and some other agencies of the RoK will seek suitable cooperation methods in specific spheres at the forum.
The two sides are expected to focus their discussions on policies and experience in national balanced development, the concretisation of regional information, the improvement of public servants’ capacity and national records management, among other issues, the MOPAS said, adding that working groups will also meet to look into cooperation plans and measures.
Ha Byung-pil, head of the planning and coordination office of the MOPAS, said that in the context of the Vietnam-RoK relationship upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership, the RoK will expand substantive cooperation with the Southeast Asian nation by concretizing many cooperation measures in public administration.
