Vietnam records the 40th COVID-19 death
VOV.VN - A female patient with underlying health problems has died of COVID-19 at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, the Hanoi Centre for Disease Control said on May 20 evening.
The 70-year-old patient hailing from Hanoi capital was admitted to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on May 3 and she tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus two days later.
She died on May 20 of COVID-19, septic shock, hypertension, sequelae of cerebrovascular accident and diabetes.
This is the 40th COVID-19 fatality in Vietnam and the fifth fatality recorded during the current COVID-19 wave.
The fourth COVID-19 wave has struck Vietnam since the SARS-CoV-2 virus resurged in late April. The virus has spread to 30 cities and provinces, with nearly 1,800 confirmed cases.
