Vietnam records over 49,100 cases of dengue fever
VOV.VN - As many as 49,113 cases of dengue fever have been reported nationwide since an outbreak hit the nation earlier this year, of which 18 people have since lost their lives.
According to details given by the Ministry of Health, the number of deaths related to dengue fever has primarily been focused in southern localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, in addition to Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Vung Tau provinces.
The Health Ministry has therefore requested that hospitals and healthcare facilities actively and continuously improve the quality of medical examinations and treatment on offer in an attempt to reduce mortality due to dengue fever. This should be done whilst simultaneously maintaining COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
The local healthcare sector has therefore encouraged people to avoid being subjective and continuously inspect and clean water containers in order to prevent larvae and mosquito bites occurring.
Residents must also co-ordinate with healthcare workers and local authorities to take necessary preventive measures.
