Vietnam records another COVID-19 death, 45 cases so far

VOV.VN - A 67-year-old woman hailing from Bac Ninh province, a coronavirus hotspot, has died of COVID-19 and other underlying illnesses, the Ministry of Health announced on May 26.

The patient was admitted to a local hospital on May 11, diagnosed with pneumonia, hypertension, hypothyroidism, diabetes, and obesity.

The following day, she tested positive for COVID-19 and had since received intensive treatment from doctors.

Two weeks later, she suffered from heart failure and septic shock. The patient was immediately transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi for intensive care.

Despite doctors’ efforts, the patient fell into a deep coma and passed away on the evening of May 25.

This is the 10th COVID-19 death during the fourth COVID-19 wave and the 45th fatality since the first outbreak last year.
