Vietnam raises aviation security in Europe to highest alert level

VOV.VN - The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines (VNA) said it will intensify security measures to ensure safety for flights to Europe as well as protect people and properties after the Belgium terror bombings on March 22.

Curently, Vietnam Airlines is operating 29 weekly flights to Europe including 11 flights to Paris (France), 8 to Frankfurt (Germany), 5 to London (the UK) and 5 to Moscow (Russia).

VNA has asked its branches abroad to strictly co-ordinate with airport authorities and security force to strenghthen control over papers, documents, packages and goods to timely detect abnormal cases as well as updating the latest information for timely response.

Meanwhile, the national flag carrier has implemented measures to support passengers on flights between Vietnam and Belgium and Vietnam and Europe in general.


Security has been tightened at European airports. The airlines recommended passengers to closely follow flight information and abide by security regulations.

From now to March 31, Vietnam Airlines will offer free ticket refund and change for passengers travelling between Vietnam and Europe.
