Vietnam posts social activities on internet
The Vietnam Internet Association (VIA) said 10 % of the country’s social activities will be posted on the internet by 2017.
This target aims to contribute to the establishment of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Vietnam with key players involving telecom and internet businesses as well as hard and software applications.
The association set a target of offering wide band internet transmissions to 50-60% of households and individuals by 2020 and promoting internet usage in social activities, especially in education, healthcare and public services.
It plans to increase membership by targeting suppliers of telecom, internet, digital services and hard and software applications relating to online business.
Over the past five years, the VIA has hosted a number of events to protect the rights and interests of online customers and enterprises.
The annual “Vietnam Internet Day” has been held over the past three years and drew public interest thanks to pressing social issues and the State’s policies and orientations on information-technology (IT) application and development.
Besides promoting trade activities and internet socialisation strategies, the association has also opened technical training courses to enhance the professional capacity of its members.
The VIA is active in drawing investments in technology and popularising internet potential in Vietnam while proposing relevant agencies build a legal framework to adjust internet, telecom and IT activities.
