Vietnam, Palestine augment crime prevention cooperation

VOV.VN - Politburo member and Minister of Public Security To Lam held talks with Palestinian Minister of the Interior Ziad Hab Al-Reeh on May 9 in Hanoi following an official welcoming ceremony held for the latter.

During the course of the meeting, the two sides consented to intensify the exchange of delegations across all levels, especially those at a high level, in order to study the needs and possibilities to build ties in the security-social order area.

They said that they will work together in a bid to boost information exchange and professional co-ordination, whilst handling transnational crimes and crimes involving to Vietnamese and Palestinian citizens. The discussions also focused on preventing organisations and individuals from taking advantage of the territory of one side in order to operate against the other.

They said it is essential to bolster ties aimed at protecting their senior leaders during visits to the other country, whilst ensuring the security and safety of headquarters of their representative missions and of their citizens working, studying in, or visiting the other country.

Collaboration in training to improve professional capacity and foreign languages, such as Arabic and Vietnamese, will also be promoted, the officials noted.

Concluding their talks, the Vietnamese and Palestinian ministers signed a memorandum of understanding on co-operation between their ministries on crime prevention and control.
