Vietnam joins hands to support Czech charity funds
VOV.VN - The Association of Diplomatic Spouses in the Czech Republic launched its annual fund-raising international charity bazaar for 2024 in Prague on December 1 as part of efforts to support charitable funds.
The Vietnamese Embassy’s active participation in this event demonstrates the spirit of unity to share and help those in difficult circumstances, while also promoting the beautiful image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends.
This year's fair was attended by more than 40 embassies of countries in the Central European nation. Local media assessed that this is one of the most important events of the Christmas season in the Czech capital.
Participating embassies’ booths offered a diverse mix of cultures and traditions with a wide range of products on offer, ranging from sweets and spices to handicrafts, books, glassware, porcelain, cosmetics, and fashion accessories. In addition, the fair also featured traditional costumes, music, and art performances.
Speaking at this year's fair, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Markéta Pekarová Adamová expressed her thanks to all of the embassies for bringing a festive atmosphere and a meaningful activity to Prague, thereby creating inspiration and arousing hearts for Czech charitable funds.
Prague Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda described the function as a flame which has ignited love, especially for children in difficult circumstances. He added his hopes that this spirit will be spread through similar activities in the time ahead.
The Vietnamese Embassy's booth displayed traditional and typical Vietnamese foods and drinks such as spring rolls and coffee, attracting plenty of visitors to enjoy. The image of the Ao Dai of the Vietnamese Embassy's staff was also one of the outstanding images at the fair.
The Anne Huisinga-Paret, president of the Association of Diplomatic Spouses in the Czech Republic, emphasized that the event was organized to honour diversity and solidarity.
The participants of the fair were able to experience a colourful festive atmosphere while supporting a worthy cause by joining hands to help those in difficult circumstances.
Huisinga-Paret said that all proceeds from the fair, together with donations from sponsors, will be donated to Czech charities.
