Vietnam joins charity fair in Indonesia
VOV.VN - An array of traditional Vietnamese cuisine and handicrafts have been showcased at the 54th annual international charity bazaar held in Jakarta of Indonesia.
The annual event was put on by the Women’s International Club (WIC) in Jakarta and hosted 40 booths from embassies based in Indonesia, as well as about 300 local businesses who came to introduce their garments-textiles, handicrafts, and food at the function.
Do Lan of the Vietnamese Women's Association shared that delicious Vietnamese dishes, such as spring rolls, banh mi, and fried dumplings had attracted huge attention from foreign visitors.
She noted that the booth put on by the Vietnamese Embassy also displayed plenty of traditional handicraft products such as souvenirs, lacquer paintings, and ceramic statues.
All of the food and items were almost sold out by the end of the day, she added. The annual charity fair served to create an opportunity for women from participating countries to explore different cultural identities.
All of the proceeds will go to a charity fund run by the WIC in support of social welfare projects within the local community.
