Vietnam intensifies airport surveillance to prevent smuggling
VOV.VN - The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has requested that the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (AVC) along with other relevant agencies step up efforts to enhance surveillance at airports and improve their operations in a bid to prevent smuggling.
The ACV must move to reassess security checks conducted on aviation personnel in restricted areas and terminals at international airports nationwide.
Moving forward, professional training in the control and supervision of aviation security, especially the screening process that is performed on security staff, must be strengthened in an effort to prevent aviation staff from bringing any illegal objects aboard aircrafts.
Furthermore, the ACV has also been asked to raise awareness among management staff at all levels and security staff regarding the legal provisions on acts of implementing and abetting criminals in smuggling operations and commercial fraud.
Moreover, the CAAV also requires airlines to not proceed with the transport of goods without invoices, papers, or goods of unknown origin, as well as not abetting criminals in the act of producing and trading fake goods, poor-quality items, and other law-breaking actions.
