Vietnam helps Laos military modernize

VOV.VN - As part of a continuing effort to help its western neighbour sustain and modernize its military, the Vietnam Ministry of Defence on August 30 presented computer equipment to the Laos People’s Army at a ceremony in Vientiane. 

At the ceremony, Colonel Tao Van Thai, defence attaché in Laos, said the IT equipment, comprised of 75 Dell computers and 75 Canon printers, would help Lao officers and soldiers better fulfill their mission.

Major general Sonthong Phommavong, deputy chief of GDP of Lao People’s Army, in turn expressed his appreciation for the equipment and invaluable other assistance Vietnam has provided down through the years.
