Vietnam, Laos bolster front cooperation

VOV.VN - On August 29, Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) President Nguyen Thien Nhan held talks with Chairman of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee Saysomphone Phomvihane in Hanoi.

The two sides agreed to step up communications and educate the younger generations of both countries on the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. 

They agreed to offer mutual support based on international law and the national interests of their respective countries. 

Both sides consented to increase delegation exchanges, and encourage local front committees to augment cooperation in the coming time.

Vietnam and Laos will mark 55 years of diplomatic ties and 40th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation next year during which they will jointly organize celebration activities. 

During the talks, the two front leaders also briefed each other on the socio-economic situation in their respective nation.
