Vietnam-France Forum highlights smart city benefits for residents

In his speech, Tran Vinh Tuyen, vice chairman of HCM City’s People’s Committee emphasized that the city has implemented the project to develop HCM City into a smart city in the 2017-2025 period with a vision to 2030.

The smart city project will focus on building e-government to increase the efficiency of state management, creating a transparent and convenient environment to facilitate businesses’ operations and offer a competitive edge for businesses while also improving the interaction between local authorities and residents. 

Mr Tuyen pointed out that in the roadmap to 2020, the city plans to achieve concrete goals and provide convenience for city dwellers by ensuring transport safety and educational and healthcare services.

The forum offered a chance for businesses and foreign and local organizations to seek partners, expand markets, facilitate technological transfer and increase investment attraction.

At the event, HCM City and the General Consulate of France signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the management of air quality with the aim of reducing environmental pollution and developing HCM City into a green, modern city of sustainable development.
