Vietnam-Czech agreement on transfer of sentenced persons ratified
Vietnam and the Czech Republic on May 3 signed a document on the ratification and implementation of the agreement on the transfer of sentenced persons between the two countries.
The document was inked by representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic and the International Law Department under the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the agreement’s article 16, it will come into force on July 2, 2019, 60 days after the exchange of the approval documents.
Earlier, Vietnam and the Czech Republic completed necessary procedures ratifying the agreement on cooperation in combating crimes, which became effective on February 12, 2019.
The agreement on the transfer of sentenced persons and the agreement on cooperation in combating crime were reached during the State visit to Vietnam by Czech President Milos Zeman in June 2017.
The ratification and implementation of the two legal documents is expected to create more legal foundations and corridors for the two countries to cooperate in the fight against crimes, and mark positive developments and promote the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in the time ahead.
