Vietnam Airlines offers free transport of relief supplies to central Vietnam
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s national carrier has announced it will receive and transport relief goods free of charge for agencies, organizations, associations, and businesses to Hue, Da Nang, and Chu Lai airports in central Vietnam.

From October 30, all relief shipments are exempt from transport fees, fuel surcharges, and related charges, and receive priority loading on flights operated by the Vietnam Airlines Group, including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO, from airports across the country to central Vietnam, where severe floods have recently caused widespread damage.
The program applies to the Vietnam Fatherland Front committees at all levels, local people’s committees, units under the Vietnam Red Cross, socio-political organizations, state agencies, licensed social organizations and charitable funds, and businesses with confirmed relief purposes. Other organizations or individuals may arrange transport through these entities to benefit from free shipping.
A Vietnam Airlines representative emphasized, “Amid natural disasters causing widespread damage, Vietnam Airlines Group aims not only to ensure safe operations but also to actively join the community in connecting people and promoting the airline’s spirit of compassion and social responsibility.”
Earlier, the Ministry of Construction directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and airport authorities to proactively drain water, protect facilities and equipment, minimize damage, and swiftly restore operations after storms. Airlines closely monitored weather developments to adjust flight plans as needed and ensure safe operations.
The Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) was tasked with ensuring the quality of meteorological information and promptly providing forecasts and alerts to relevant units. As of now, operations at Phu Bai, Da Nang, and Chu Lai airports are running normally.
