Vietnam Airlines flight diverted to aid sick passenger
VOV.VN - A Vietnam Airlines flight from Hanoi to Khanh Hoa made an emergency landing at Da Nang International Airport on the evening of June 29 after a passenger onboard suffered a serious health issue.
The flight had departed from Noi Bai International Airport at 8:35 p.m. According to Vietnam Airlines, about 30 minutes after takeoff, a 37-year-old Vietnamese passenger showed signs of health instability.
The cabin crew immediately issued an onboard call for medical assistance, but the passenger’s condition remained unwell.
The crew then alerted the Vietnam Airlines operations division and decided to divert the flight to the nearest airport. The aircraft landed at Da Nang International Airport, where the passenger received emergency medical attention.
After completing all necessary procedures, the flight resumed its journey and arrived at Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa at 11 p.m.
This marks one of several recent cases where Vietnam Airlines has altered its flight path to support passengers with urgent medical needs. On June 16, a flight from Da Nang to Hanoi was diverted to Phu Bai International Airport in Hue to assist a female passenger suffering from a health problem. Earlier, on May 5, a Vietnam Airlines flight from Hanoi to Frankfurt was forced to land at Erzurum Airport in Turkey under similar circumstances.
Vietnam Airlines advises passengers to monitor and assess their health conditions before flying. Those experiencing unusual symptoms are encouraged to consult a doctor in advance and carefully consider whether to travel, in order to ensure their safety and that of others onboard.
