Vietnam Airlines brings nearly 280 Vietnamese citizens from European nations
VOV.VN - Close to 280 Vietnamese citizens were repatriated home safely on October 22-23 from Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Czech, and Norway on a flight conducted by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines as part of joint efforts by Vietnamese authorities and competent agencies in the host nations.
Passengers on board the repatriation flight were children under 18, the elderly, the ill, workers whose visas and contracts had expired, students without accommodations, and others in difficult circumstances.
Vietnamese agencies in foreign countries worked closely with their relevant counterparts to facilitate the citizens’ travel and assist them with necessary procedures before departure.
Vietnam Airlines carried out necessary epidemiological and COVID-19 prevention and control measures during the flight to prevent possible spread of the virus.
All passengers were also examined and quarantined according to regulations as soon as the plane landed at Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh province.
Vietnamese authorities are arranging more repatriation flights to bring home more Vietnamese citizens stranded abroad in line with the domestic epidemic situation and isolation capacity.
