VFF leader urges promoting the strength of national unity

VOV.VN -  Promoting the strength of national unity will be one of key tasks the Vietnam Fatherland Front will focus on this year, VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan recently told the press to mark the New Year 2017.

The VFF leader said the Front’s mission has been pursuing Party guidelines and contributing to building the Party and an incorruptible and strong government, and promoting people’s creativity.

He noted that one of the major roles of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is to ensure connectivity and solidarity among religions.

The VFF President stressed that any Vietnamese person regardless of religion is a patriot and no religion operating in Vietnam runs counter to the doctrine of patriotism and love for the people.

To enhance the connectivity of religions, the VFF signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and 40 accredited religious organisations on environment protection and climate change response, as well as collected public feedback on the draft Law on Belief and Religion to submit to the National Assembly for approval.

The country’s effective religious affairs have been widely recognized internationally, Nhan added.
