UPDATE: 16 more community infections confirmed on May 10 evening

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health (MoH) confirmed 16 more coronavirus infections in five localities on the evening of May 10, raising the total number of locally transmitted infections during the day to 125.

Of the newly detected cases, six were reported in Hung Yen, four in Da Nang, three in Bac Giang, two in Hanoi and one in Vinh Phuc. Fifteen of them tested positive after having come into close contact with COVID-19 patients.

Notably, the patient in Vinh Phuc is a Chinese citizen who works for VINATOP company. The 41-year-old experts tested positive during his stay in a quarantine facility.

Meanwhile, one of the two patients in Hanoi boarded flagged flight VN160 from Da Nang to Hanoi on April 29. The 29-year-old woman hailing from Da Nang was diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus on May 10 during her stay in a quarantine facility in Hanoi.

A number of passengers have been infected with the virus after boarding the same flight together with Chinese and Indian experts who were later confirmed as COVID-19 patients.

Vietnam has recorded a total of 458 the number of COVID-19 infections in 26 cities and provinces since the virus recurred on April 28.

The same day, the MoH also announced an imported case, a two-year-old child returning from abroad via Cau Treo international border gate in Ha Tinh province. She tested positive on May 9 and was transferred to a local health facility for medical surveillance and treatment.
