Two Vietnamese victims of human trafficking rescued from Cambodia
VOV.VN - Vietnamese authorities have dismantled a cross-border human trafficking ring and rescued two people who were said to be sold into forced labour in Cambodia, according to the Border Guard Station of Tay Ninh province.

According to Colonel Le Van Vy, Commander of the Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard, the arrests followed an urgent phone call from an 18-year-old man seeking help as he was about to be trafficked across the border.
In response, a joint task force involving anti-narcotics and criminal police units was quickly mobilised.
The investigation led to the arrest of two teenagers, Ly Minh Tam and Chu Quoc Cuong, who were caught escorting the victim near the Moc Bai international border crossing.
During questioning, the suspects admitted to trafficking another young man from the Dao ethnic group just a week earlier. They said the victim had been sold for VND25 million (approx. US$1,000) to a man named Le Van Uoc in Bavet, a Cambodian city near the border.
Expanding the investigation, Vietnamese authorities identified Uoc’s location and the previously trafficked victim in Nam Long district of Bavet city, Svay Riengprovince.
With the cooperation of Cambodian police, Uoc was arrested on April 26, and the victim was rescued and repatriated through the Moc Bai checkpoint.
During interrogations, Uoc confessed to receiving trafficked individuals and handing them over to other operators in exchange for money.
