Two Vietnamese universities ranked among the world’s best
VOV.VN -Two of the nation’s universities, the Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam National University in Hanoi, have been ranked among the top 1,000 universities in the world, according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings.

The QS World University Rankings evaluates universities based on six criteria, including academic reputation, which accounts for 40 per cent of the total, employer reputation, which accounts for 10 per cent, Faculty to Student Ratio, which accounts for 20 per cent, Citations per faculty, which accounts for 20 per cent, International Faculty Ratio, which accounts for 5 per cent, and International Student Ratio, which accounts for 5 per cent.
The academic reputation of the Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City also increased by 70 places, leaving it ranked at 427th.
First established in 2004, the QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings published by London-based QS. Being the only international ranking to have received accreditation from the International Ranking Expert Group, the QS ranking is one of the three most widely-read university ranking systems in the world, along with the Academic Ranking of World Universities, and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
