Two shot dead, four injured in Phu Quoc shooting
VOV.VN - Two people have been killed and four others injured following a shooting in Phu Quoc city of Kien Giang province, southern Vietnam, local authorities confirmed on October 27.
Among the four injured who were receiving emergency treatment at Phu Quoc City medical Centre, one was in critical condition, Huynh Quang Hung, head of the Phu Quoc administration, told local media outlets in the evening.
The police have arrested 17 suspects and are searching for others, said the official, adding the Kien Giang Provincial Police have prosecuted the case to investigate suspects on charges of murder and causing public disturbances.
The firing took place at Ben Tram hamlet of Cua Duong commune at 11.23am on October 27, according to local media outlets.
CCTV footage shows two groups of more than 20 people were quarreling about something and chasing each other. About 12 gunshots were heard shortly after the quarrel.
The police cordoned off the scene of the shooting for investigations.
A police officer told thanhnien.vn those involved in the shooting were not local residents.
